Principal's Profile

Dr. Purna Nagasree Kurre holds a B.Pharmacy degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University (2003), M.Pharmacy from the prestigious BITS, Pilani (Rajasthan), and a Ph.D. from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam (2012) as a Junior Research Fellow (MoES project). She led a DST-funded project worth ₹24 Lakhs as a Women Scientist-A from 2013 to 2016 at AU.

Her research areas include the design and synthesis of anti-tubercular compounds, drug repurposing, molecular docking, and impurity profiling using advanced analytical techniques like HPLC, LC-MS, and NMR. With 19 years of combined academic, research, and administrative experience, she has served at BITS Pilani as a faculty and Practice School Nucleus member.


Dr. Kurre has authored 50 international publications (297 citations, h-index: 8, i10 index: 8), 2 books, 5 book chapters (including Elsevier and Wiley), and holds 3 patents. She also contributed to the development of CADD tools AUDocker LE and AUDocker. She is a life member of professional bodies such as IPGA, APTI, SNCI, and APP, and currently serves as the APTI AP Zonal Coordinator for the Women Forum.

Recognized with the IPA Domagk Gold Medal, Young Researcher's Award (ICT Mumbai), and Young Achiever Award, she is also an expert reviewer for journals by Wiley, Springer, Bentham, and BMC. She has supervised over 50 B.Pharmacy and 13 M.Pharmacy students and served as a reviewer, adjudicator, PCI inspector, and editorial board member for reputed journals.
