Avanthi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AIPS) was established in the year 2005 under Avanthi Educational Society which is run by Sri.M. Srinivasa Rao, founder chairman, an educationalist, having three and half decades of extensive experience in encouraging and nurturing professional colleges. The college has been making remarkable and distinctive progress in Pharmacy education under the leadership of Smt. M. Gnaneshwari, chairperson.
The Institute has achieved NAAC A+ with CGPA 3.28 accreditation for a period valid for 5 yrs from Dec 5th 2024 - Dec 4th 2029. Institution has applied for UGC 2(f) as per the norms of UGC Act,1956.It is an ISO-certified institute (9001:2015) and has MOUs with reputed pharmaceutical industries, Software companies, multi-Specialty hospitals, and is a well-known educational institution in and around Visakhapatnam & Vizianagaram. The Institute maintains high standards of Academic achievements & training for its wards. AIPS has signed 24 MoU’s with various organizations and Institutions for internships, certification Programs, Value added Courses, Training & Placements, Research Projects & Industrial visits. There are MoU’s with Rainbow labs, MIMS, Aquity Solutions, Galaxy CR Solutions, Talent Scope, Actimus Biosciences, JS Skills, Clinisol etc. Incubation Centre is tied up with Rainbow labs in the college. The Institute is a member of various professional bodies. AIPS is one of the oldest Institute with more than 2000 globally accomplished Alumni.
The Institution is recognized by the AP State Govt. and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi affiliated to JNTU-GV, Vizianagaram, and Andhra Pradesh. The institution offers a UG Program B. Pharmacy, and 6 P. G programs M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Analysis), M. Pharmacy (Pharmacology), M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics), M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Technology), Pharm.D, and Pharm.D Post baccalaureate Programmes with a duration of 4 Years,2 years, 6 years and 3 years respectively. The sanctioned Strength for B. Pharmacy is 100, M. Pharmacy 15 for each specialization (Total 60 seats), Pharm.D 30, and Pharm.D (P.B) is 10 seats.
AIPS has dedicated team of Academicians & Administrators who constantly monitor the functioning of the institute and the well being of its students .
The institution has robust student strength of over 650 guided by a 51 faculty members including 09 doctorates .
AIPS is securing 100% admissions for B. Pharm, M. Pharmacy and Pharm.D programs. Institution has appreciable 72% placements in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharm.D program. Our Fortune Recruiters, viz. Hetero Drugs PVT LTD, Aquity Solutions, Apollo Pharmacy, Haleon, Pfizer etc. Average pass percentage of students over the last six years for Pharm.D program is 100% and B. Pharm program is 90.5%. This showcases the institution's strengths in attracting students, providing quality education, and facilitating successful career outcomes.
The Institute is spread over 2.5 acres with built up area of 6593sqmt & has an excellent infrastructure and well equipped 18 classrooms, 21 laboratories including 14 ICT enabled classrooms. It has imposing buildings, spacious classrooms fitted with audio-visual aids, well equipped laboratories, seminar hall and a large auditorium. Department laboratories have the latest equipment and licensed software. The college has modern Computing facilities with over 145 computers networked through broadband for Internet access. The Institute has a central library of 1696.17 sq. ft with total collection of 1108 books in more than 3283 titles. It has IP -enabled access to various online journals like DELNET, SOUTH ASIAN & NDLI.

From Founder's Message
Avanthi Educational Society started its journey under the Leadership of Sri M. Srinivasa Rao Garu. MLA, Bheemili, Ex Minister for Tourism, Culture & Youth Advancements Govt. of A.P., The group has made a remarkable stride in the field of education offering several courses in Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Engineering and Pharmacy Programs. This milestone is achieved as the institutions impart quality and career oriented education, countering the challenges of modern world through dedication, determination, prompt execution and innovative ideas of our academic council. Today, Avanthi Educational Society is proud to have a strength of over 16000 students with 15 institutions under its ambit. The Institutions are Governed by Dr. M. Priyanka and Mr. I.Sravan Kumar in the Capacities of General Secretary and Managing Director Respectively & Smt. M. Gnaneshwari Garu as President and Sri. M.V.S.S. From Principal's Desk
Dr. Purna Nagasree Kurre has obtained her B.Pharmacy from Acharya Nagarjuna University in 2003,
M. Pharmacy from the world-renowned BITS, Pilani (Rajasthan), and PhD from Andhra University,
Visakhapatnam in 2012 as a JRF in a MoES project. She successfully handled a project as a Principal
Investigator worth Rs. 24 Lakhs from DST as a Women Scientist-A during 2013-2016 at AU.
Her research interests include the design, synthesis, and screening of anti-tubercular compounds,
docking studies, drug repurposing, and characterization using HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, and impurity profiling.
She brings 19 years of academic, research, and administrative experience as a faculty member and
Practice School Nucleus Member at BITS, Pilani.
Dr. Kurre has headed numerous institutional committees, including Placements, IQAC, DRC, IIC, IIIC, Seminar, and Faculty Support committees. She serves as the APTI AP Zonal Coordinator for the Women Forum and is a life member of IPGA, APTI, SNCI, and APP.
Her academic output includes 50 international peer-reviewed publications, garnering 297 citations with an h-index of 8 and i10 index of 8. She has contributed a cumulative impact factor of 38, authored 2 books, 5 book chapters (including contributions to Elsevier and Wiley), and holds 3 patents. She has also contributed to developing CADD software—AUDocker LE and AUDocker.
Dr. Kurre has been honored with the IPA Domagk Gold Medal, Young Researcher’s Award at ICT Mumbai, and Young Achiever Award. She was nominated as an independent expert for evaluating NEAT 2.0 (National Education Alliance for Technology) courses under AICTE.
She serves as a reviewer for journals under Wiley, Bentham, Springer, and BMC, and also works as an editorial board member, resource person, adjudicator, and PCI inspector. Over her career, she has guided more than 50 B.Pharmacy and 13 M.Pharmacy students.

development. The college provides all the resources that are necessary in creating professionals with high intellectual acumen
and moral values. We work diligently to fulfil our mission of providing the best learning opportunities to students and faculty
through various knowledge disseminating platforms like seminars, conferences, guest lectures, internships, so on.
